Plastic And Rubber Additives
Many additives are used in Plastic and Rubber compounding to enhance the performance of the finished system or to aid in the processing of the system. Additives include heat and UV stabilisers, antistatic agents, optical brighteners, foaming agents, moisture scavangers, etc. Whether introduced as a master batch or individually as part of the compounding process, additives are used to give the finished product the characteristics required to perform as required.

Applications and Uses:
Hydrocarbon resins add water resistance and improved adhesion and weather resistance to Industrial coatings and Roadmarking paints. Their biggest use however is as a tackifier in Adhesives, primarily in hotmelts, but also in liquid pressure sensitive adhesives. This tackiness is also exploited in solvent based dips for wood, etc. as well as in Sealants. Also used in Rubber formulations to improve tack and modify the rheology of the pre-vulcanate.
